The Continental Baron tyre is based on it's downhill equivalent 'Der Baron'. The Baron is a lighter model in a narrower 2.3 size for aggressive trail riding and Freeride. With an 'Apex' rubber elastomer in the critical sidewall area to prevent impact punctures and an open tread with split lugs which adapt to the trail surface more quickly, the Continental Baron is already turning a few heads.
Singletrack magazine tested the top of the range Black Chili version and had the following to say : 'Rubber fiends rejoice! Here we have probably the best wet conditions, aggressive trail riding tyre around....is designed to cope with being ridden hard at speed on properly technical natural terrain. It also works a treat on the man-made surfaces of the trail centres... Overall: Could be the best wet condition UK trail tyre ever ... '

- Aggressive Trail riding tyre
- Handles major abuse yet light enough to climb too
- Used by the Animal Commencal team of Gee, Dan & Rachel Atherton
- Black Chili trail compound
- Apex sidewalls for extra strength

Continental Country Plus - potter about the countryside with no fear of cycling through the rough stuff thanks to Plus+ Puncture Protection.
Just the tyre for the weekend family ride when adventure is the objective. The Country Plus's thick elastomer belt is designed to keep thorns out ensuring that your day out is not held up by the dreaded puncture devil.
|
| | | |
| |
- When avoiding punctures is the sole requirement
- Soft elastomer 'PLUS' belt under tread
- Thorns, glass and other debris are pushed away rather than penetrate through
- Reflex reflective Side Wall
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
|
| |
Continental Der Baron - Last year, the Baron was navigating the downhill trails as the Rain King. However, this intermediate tyre better suits its new name 'Der Baron'. The tyre does particularly well on forest ground which can by all means be wet, but also convinces bikers with its arrangement of studs in rocky terrain.
The extra thick, double-layer carcass with Apex effectively prevents punctures. It's Black Chili Compound, which is particularly soft and has good gripping qualities, is extremely tough and its rolling resistance and abrasion are sensationally low.
The Black Chili compounds high wear resistance both transforms performance and value for money - MORE GRIP, MORE TREAD LIFE

Continental's Der Kaiser dry to intermediate tyre is the perfect tyre for World Champion and current World Cup overall winner Gee Atherton.
If you are looking for an all round DH tyre to do some local races or an uplift day then look no further. The tread pattern is a perfect mix for speed and mud clearance. The Black Chilli compound helps you stick to the ground even when hitting off camber turns flat out. This incredibly versatile tyre will be at home on most UK tracks in the dry. This is the tyre that took Gee to his first WC win on home soil and on to the podium of the Red Bull Rampage!
The German made Black Chilli version features the latest advancements in German made rubber compounding ! Apex sidewall will keep those punctures away even in the roughest of rock gardens.

Continental Gravity with Gravity Arc grip. The Continental Gravity is a classic fast rolling All Mountain tyre.
The Gravity tyre will appeal to freeriders as well as cross country riders thanks to it's lightweight, yet tough 2.3" tread profile.
The tyre gets it's design from the "Gravity Arc" concept.
The lugs on these tyres "arc" down from the middle of the lug to the tread base. This both strengthens the lug and improves the lugs ability to grip, especially in severe conditions.
Riders who try our Gravity Arc tyres will thus benefit from more positive cornering feedback where there is no folding or falling over of weaker shoulder lugs. They will also find that these "arcs" beneath the tread lugs will enhance trail grip, especially in softer conditions where more of the tread is in contact with the ground.
This low weight/high grip formula saves energy, so on longer rides where pedalling heavier tyres can really take their toll on tired legs, the Gravity is clearly a viable alternative.
|
| | | |
| |
- 2.3" Freeride tyre - front & rear fitment
- Aggressive appearance does not contradict its running smoothness.
- Gravity Arc tread design sinks its claws reliably into loose surfaces and turns confidently. It utilizes the entire tread space with 3D Arcs & lugs to increase the tyres footprint & improve grip.

Continental Mud King - the moment of truth for the Mud King 1.8 comes when the skies open and XC racers are left to make their way through the toughest conditions of all – thick, slippery-yet sticky mud.
Mud tyres must knife to the bottom finding firm ground for traction, yet be able to shed the excess with every spin of the wheel – the Mud King 1.8 profile and aggressive ‘spike’ pattern does exactly this.
What lies beneath these heinous conditions is equally menacing and the new ProTection casing offers excellent puncture resistance against that which cannot be seen.
Mud King + rain = Mud mayhem!

The Continental Speed King is designed for marathon racing. The tyre offers low rolling resistance and secure grip. The Continental Speed King masters various terrain, from fire road to moist singletrail with the low profile tread ensuring a faster lap time. The shoulder knobs reach deep into the side for predictable handling on hard and loose pack giving you enough traction where others already skid and slide. This tyre is aggressive, lightweight and it has the stamina for those long races. With 4 mm high lugs, it outperforms many other tyres when it comes to endurance and the tall lugs perform well over loose or muddy terrain and after many kilometers they're still going when other competitors have long since given up.

The Touring Plus remains very comfortable in spite of its protective coating and rolls and steers very lightly.

Continental Traffic is the tyre for all year use in and around town in all conditions and soils, providing high comfort, and good puncture protection due to the robust gumwall sidewall and generous rubber tread.
The compound of the Traffic uses a high degree of natural rubber which is unusual for a tyre at this price level. This means that the tyre will provide greater wet weather grip making it safer in cornering and under breaking on wet, greasy city streets.
The tread is designed with Continental unique "Endless Edge"- block design system, as with all their new generation off road MTB tyres featuring five-cornered blocks in variable orientation for effortless, precise steering, safe handling and responsive braking grip.

- Now up-dated city slicker with the knobbly look.
- For MTB owners who ride on the road, not wishing to lose the "off road" look of their bikes
- Centre ridge for smooth comfortable rolling on tarmac hard pack

The roller tyre. With a modern roller and the Continental Ultra Sport Hometrainer in the house, winter can set in when it wants to. Thanks to its special cold-running compound, the Ultra Sport Hometrainer doesn't experience the heat buildup of a road tyre, nor does it suffer the tread separation that the road tyre is prone to under the special loads occurring when in cycling and braking on the roller's revolving drums. The Ultra Sport Hometrainer has been designed explicitly for rollers and is not suitable for on-road use.
|
| | | |
| |
- Harder compound for increased service life
- Cold running compound eliminates risk of tread seperation
- Not suitable for on-road use

The modern classic. The Continental Vertical and Continental Vertical Pro has everything a classic tyre needs. The Geax AKA tyre is designed to dominate in situations where the knob must penetrate the ground without digging, and offer exceptional grip without slowing the wheel down. Even adverse terrains like gravel, sand, and grass aren’t a match for this directional, well spaced, small blocked pattern. Gato-derived side knobs round out the profile, providing predictable cornering even when conditions get moist. It’s the choice of pro slopestyle rider Cam Zink, not because it’s a do-it-all tyre...because it’s a DOMINATE-it-all tyre.
The Geax Aka casings provide strong anti-pinch-flat protection and cut prevention, while delivering high performance in terms of the low rolling resistance and low overall weights. Geax are able to achieve this result with a careful choice of proprietary polyamide threads and optimized positioning (cutting angles and layer coupling) to further stress Geax’s strengths. The casing is the main ingredient to get speed, reliability, grip, and overall suppleness.

The Geax Barro Mountain is a cutting-edge multi-purpose tyre with an aggressive, moderately spaced pattern that handles the toughest terrains without increasing rolling resistance. Plateau-like, rounded knobs create a stiff tread that sheds dirt and debris easily, rolling over everything it finds: dry soil, wet soil, rocks and even roots. The larger size features softer rubber compounds that enhance grip and control at all speeds. When the terrain gets demanding, the versatility of the Barro Mountain will keep you moving.
TNT XC CASING
TNT is now, more than ever, the benchmark in MTB casing technology. The presence of the UST Tubeless bead, but exclusion of the internal butyl layer makes for a lightweight and flexible casing unachievable with standard UST casings. Extra sidewall reinforcements enhance cut resistance and low speed compliance to deliver a livelier tyre. Our TNT tyres are lighter compared to a tubeless or to a tyre+tube combo, have lower rolling resistance due to a more flexible casing, higher reliability and increased cornering abilities due to the extra protection layer. The NoTube ability comes just by adding some liquid or foaming latex, which adds puncture prevention qualities as well.

The Geax Barro Mud tyre has been specifically designed for the most extreme conditions in nature. Its narrow section, coupled with the open tread pattern, make for a self-cleaning tyre that will keep you riding when the weather’s at its worst. Stiff side knobs prevent sliding in corners and off-camber sections, while PRB puncture protection and a strong Aramid 3D compound make for a reliable, light tyre that delivers performance even when mere survival is the goal

The Geax Saguaro strikes a beautiful balance of versatility and performance.
Featuring a pattern that falls nicely between the Mezcal and the Barro Mountain, the Saguaro rolls fast and bites hard.
The tread pattern makes for predictable cornering on all surfaces and the connected central knobs make acceleration and speed maintenance nearly effortless.
Suited for applications ranging from XC racing to big-hit slopestyle, the Saguaro is the perfect do-it-all tyre.

Cunningham, Lars Sternberg, Bryn Atkinson, and others) and they all felt that the tire was equal to or an improvement over the original High Roller in every performance category. Cornering traction was the biggest area of improvement, with braking improved as well. The transition was gradual, and the tire gave warning before breaking free (an area where the original High Roller suffers) ... "

The Maxxis Larsen TT works on a vast number of terrains and conditions, which is why it is the favored tread of many of our pro dual riders. The Maxxis Larsen TT hooks up well because each small, square lug in the tread pattern is ramped to roll easily, yet tightly spaced so more knobs are making contact with the ground. Thus, the contact patch is effective on a wide variety of surfaces.

The Maxxis Medusa is inspired by our professional European cross country racers for racing on muddy terrain. Small profile is lightweight and cuts through loose terrain, while the spiked tread pattern works to find traction through the mud. The widely spaced tread pattern resists packing by shedding mud and loose, damp soil. The Maxxis Medusa performs well in mud and the low profile also makes it an excellent choice for lighter riders.

Schwalbe Hans Dampf (Jack of all Trades) - for a perfect trail ride.
Everything has been tuned for control and maximum riding fun. The tread functions with absolute poise and is well behaved in every situation - like difficult terrain on singletrack. Grippy TrailStar compound. Light and robust SnakeSkin sidewall. Easy to fit Tubeless Ready. Enjoy the Flow. Hans Dampf 26".
Hans Dampf is as much at home on back streets as it is on tough trails. Strong lugs, grippy TrailStar Compound and additionally strengthened sidewalls (SnakeSkin) make it feel as comfortable on rugged terrain as on flowing single-track, so described Schwalbe’s Head Technician, Markus Hachmeyer.
TrailStar Compound has been used to achieve outstanding grip. The unique grip is attributable to the triple compound where Schwalbe has optimized and combined three different rubber mixtures specifically for All-Mountain/Enduro: a grippy mixture is used in the tread center, an even grippier formula on the tyre shoulders, while there is an easy rolling base compound under the tread. Hans Dampf rolls relatively easily and is also not bad on ascents. The verdict of "Decline" magazine: "Schwalbe sets new standards in rubber."
The profile of the Hans Dampf offers complete control because the large lugs have a huge contact area. This high proportion of positive tread gives the rider confidence in every situation and at the same time minimizes wear. An additional woven layer, SnakeSkin, strengthens the sidewall. Weighing around 40 grams SnakeSkin casing provides protection from sharp rocks and stones.
Hans Dampf has a further new feature: Tubeless Ready. The SnakeSkin, which is extremely thick already, makes conversion of the allrounder into Tubeless with the addition of latex fluid really simple. And so prepared, Hans Dampf rides like a tubeless tyre with all of the well known benefits: high puncture protection, low rolling resistance and first-rate trail performance, since it can be ridden at lower pressure.
2.35 inch is the classic size for versatile trail riding, it rolls over everything.
PLEASE NOTE the ORC versions are not tubeless ready tyres.

The original. Schwalbe Marathon 2011 Original, the archetypal high quality touring tyre. Now completely revised: GreenGuard. The highly elastic, India rubber layer is 3 mm thick. Other manufacturers call such a tyre "Plus". However, Green is not just the colour, but also the philosophy: One third of the GreenGuard is made up of recycled latex products. "Anti-Ageing". The completely new sidewall construction can withstand (for much longer), the typical cracking resulting from overloading due to insufficient inflation pressure. Also the new Endurance Compound substantially increases durability. E-Bike Ready. The new Schwalbe Marathon has been designed for use on all types of E-bikes. They bear the ECE75 mark, suitable for use on faster, up to 50 kph, E-bikes.

| | - NOTE: Pre-2011 version
- Slightly revised tread pattern for 2010:
- Phase shifted blocks - by varying the block position into profile clusters the grip has been positively improved, as has durability.
- Weight - the construction has been trimmed to reduce weight by around 30 grams, from 570 to 540 grams in size 26 x 2.25.
- Grip - the more sturdy lugs provide better propulsion, braking traction and more stability in curves.
- Durability - the lugs are more highly pronounced, so the tyre presents a more positive profile. As a consequence of the larger tread area the individual lugs wear down less quickly.
- Cut resistance - the side walls are now rubberized and thus better protected from damage in tough conditions.
- Steering & Handling - a new, unidirectional arrangement of the centre blocks. Now both front and rear tyres can be fitted facing in the same direction of travel. The front facing open U-blocks can now be used to full advantage on the rear wheel.
- Triple Nano Compound - the differentiation of the three compounds has made possible a new maximization of performance. Nano particles and new polymers improve rolling resistance by 15 per cent when compared with the previous Triple Compound.
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
|
| |
Schwalbe has optimized the inner strength of its MTB tyres: In 2011 all top models will have new, Triple Star compounds. It is a modular system whereby three of six new individual compounds are cleverly combined. All 2011 EVO versions are now 'Tubeless Ready'.
Simply by adding a liquid puncture sealant they can be made into Tubeless tyres.
PLEASE NOTE the ORC versions are not tubeless ready tyres.
PLEASE NOTE - We also stock the 2010 Nobby Nic (click here)
|
| | | |
| | - Each Triple Star compound consists of three unique compounds.
- All three Triple Compounds have the same, extremely elastic base compound under the tread that makes the tyres fast. All other desired properties are achieved by placing a special compound in the tread centre and on the tyre shoulders - a different one for each intended purpose. More info here ->

Schwalbe Rocket Ron is a new race tyre from Schwalbe - Rocket Ron is light and fast, slightly more bite than a Schwalbe Racing Ralph but just as fast!
Use front and rear, or on the front with a Ralph on the back!
Schwalbe say :-
Rocket Ron is a new MTB racer and a super-light competition rocket with astonishing grip. In May '08 Sabine Spitz rode the rocket to her European title championship success in St. Wendel.
This Rocket fulfills racers' wishes all at once: Low weight and a lot of grip - both straight-line power and traction in curves - and it works just as well in wet or dry conditions. The lugs are widely spaced and provide a great self-cleaning action as with Racing Ralph, said Schwalbe technician, Markus Hachmeyer. In order to achieve these seemingly opposing characteristics Schwalbe equipped its MTB-Racer with a lot of technical finesse such as: 127 EPI EVO carcass, Triple Nano Compound and bitingly efficient U-Blocks. Schwalbe positioned its new MTB-Racer amongst its two most popular MTB competition tyres of the past few years: The grippy Nobby Nic and the fast Racing Ralph. Rocket Ron has a more prominent profile than Racing Ralph, but nonetheless rolls just as easily. Above all: Rocket Ron is an out and out competition tyre, so puncture resistance and durability are limited.

Schwalbe Snow Stud winter studded tyre.
The Schwalbe Snow Stud tyre works on ice.
For many of us who live in more temperate regions, the likelihood of a midday thaw followed by an overnight freeze means that ice may be frequently encountered Whether off-road or on-road this is where studs come into their own They are not failsafe, and you still need to treat ice with due respect, but studs do offer a big improvement in control to the extent that you can easily be lulled into a false sense of security, only to slip straight onto your backside soon after stepping off the bike Studs are available as off-road tyres with wide spaced lugs, or on road tyres with a much closer spaced tread It should be noted that compared to regular tyres, there is increased rolling resistance (making pedalling harder), and the studs can be pretty noisy on bare roads In climates where snow and ice persist through the winter, riders would tend to use studs throughout the season, whereas in regions such as the UK where ice is a more sporadic event, a quick change of tyres or even better a spare set of wheels made up ready seems to be the more efficient approach.

Schwalbe Wicked Will 2011 is really wicked, because it lets the competition look almost good. Extremely fast competition tyre for dry, firm tracks. Large, flat blocks in the tread centre roll well and are fast in straights. Strong, grippy outer lugs keeps speed high in curves. The "Curve Claws" on the shoulders are completely new: In extreme inclinations they bite into the ground.

Continental Touring Plus - a compact, highly elastic rubber breaker makes the Continental Touring Plus extremely resistant. Stones, glass splitters and thorns have no chance. The 29" Geax Saguaro strikes a beautiful balance of versatility and performance.
Featuring a pattern that falls nicely between the Mezcal and the Barro Mountain, the 29" Saguaro rolls fast and bites hard.
The tread pattern makes for predictable cornering on all surfaces and the connected central knobs make acceleration and speed maintenance nearly effortless.
Suited for applications ranging from XC racing to big-hit slopestyle, the Saguaro is the perfect do-it-all tyre.
TNT XC CASING TNT is now, more than ever, the benchmark in MTB casing technology.

Schwalbe 29" Hans Dampf (Jack of all Trades) - for a perfect trail ride.
Hans Dampf 29er.
2.35 inch is the classic size for versatile trail riding, it rolls over everything – this applies in particular to the increasingly popular Twentyniner: That’s why Hans Dampf comes in 29 inch.

Fit the Continental Grand Prix Supersonic, coupled with a lightweight tube and you've got the lightest and fastest tyre combination on the market at just 200g.
The Continental Grand Prix Supersonic offers exceptionally low rolling resistance that rivals that of our renowned tubulars. The tyre is now even faster thanks to the new Black Chili compound which utilises nano particles of carbon to create a molecular structure of the rubber comound which is stronger, faster amd grippier than previous compounds.
Conti's super-fine, polyamide casing combined with a thin layer of Black Chili rubber is extremely lightweight and is designed to allow high inflation pressures.
This tyre is intended for race use only in solo events, and is not recommended for road races or training rides due to its short tread life. There is no extra puncture protection with the Grand Prix Supersonic due to the lightweight construction. Riders should weigh up the compromises that they are willing to take before choosing this tyre.

The Continental Grand Prix 4000 is the star in the peloton.
For the GP4000 tyres, the activated silica compound improves the handling at stability limits and gives great rolling resistance. The anti-tear formula in the rubber compound prevents tread brittleness while increasing mileage performance. The extra special thing about the GP 4000 is the puncture protection made from Vectran™ liquid crystal fibres. The patented Vectran Breaker reconciles the conflicting goals of low weight, low rolling resistance and top puncture and cut resistance in a fascinating manner. The Vectran™ fluid crystal fibres were developed for airbag systems in the automotive and aerospace industries.
It also maintains strength in the wet.
A new anti-cracking formula prevents UV light from damaging the compound and increases the mileage performance.
Features new tread wear indicators to help riders gauge the life of their GP4000 tyre. On the one hand you don't lose mileage performance by prematurely replacing the tyre and on the other you don't risk safety by using the tyre beyond its tread service life

Messengers, hardcore commuters and fixie riders - your tyre has arrived!.
|
| | | |
| |
- When avoiding punctures is the sole requirement.
- Soft elastomer 'PLUS' belt under tread.
- Thorns, glass and other debris are pushed away rather than penetrate through.
