The Continental Baron tyre is based on it's downhill equivalent 'Der Baron'. The Baron is a lighter model in a narrower 2.3 size for aggressive trail riding and Freeride. With an 'Apex' rubber elastomer in the critical sidewall area to prevent impact punctures and an open tread with split lugs which adapt to the trail surface more quickly, the Continental Baron is already turning a few heads.
Singletrack magazine tested the top of the range Black Chili version and had the following to say : 'Rubber fiends rejoice! Here we have probably the best wet conditions, aggressive trail riding tyre around....is designed to cope with being ridden hard at speed on properly technical natural terrain. It also works a treat on the man-made surfaces of the trail centres... Overall: Could be the best wet condition UK trail tyre ever ... '

Just the tyre for the weekend family ride when adventure is the objective. The Country Plus's thick elastomer belt is designed to keep thorns out ensuring that your day out is not held up by the dreaded puncture devil.

Continental Der Baron - Last year, the Baron was navigating the downhill trails as the Rain King. However, this intermediate tyre better suits its new name 'Der Baron'. The tyre does particularly well on forest ground which can by all means be wet, but also convinces bikers with its arrangement of studs in rocky terrain.
The extra thick, double-layer carcass with Apex effectively prevents punctures. It's Black Chili Compound, which is particularly soft and has good gripping qualities, is extremely tough and its rolling resistance and abrasion are sensationally low.
The Black Chili compounds high wear resistance both transforms performance and value for money - MORE GRIP, MORE TREAD LIFE

Continental Gravity with Gravity Arc grip. The Continental Gravity is a classic fast rolling All Mountain tyre.
The Gravity tyre will appeal to freeriders as well as cross country riders thanks to it's lightweight, yet tough 2.3" tread profile.
The tyre gets it's design from the "Gravity Arc" concept.
The lugs on these tyres "arc" down from the middle of the lug to the tread base. This both strengthens the lug and improves the lugs ability to grip, especially in severe conditions.
Riders who try our Gravity Arc tyres will thus benefit from more positive cornering feedback where there is no folding or falling over of weaker shoulder lugs. They will also find that these "arcs" beneath the tread lugs will enhance trail grip, especially in softer conditions where more of the tread is in contact with the ground.
This low weight/high grip formula saves energy, so on longer rides where pedalling heavier tyres can really take their toll on tired legs, the Gravity is clearly a viable alternative.
|
| | | |
| |
- 2.3" Freeride tyre - front & rear fitment
- Aggressive appearance does not contradict its running smoothness.
- Gravity Arc tread design sinks its claws reliably into loose surfaces and turns confidently. It utilizes the entire tread space with 3D Arcs & lugs to increase the tyres footprint & improve grip.

Continental Mud King - the moment of truth for the Mud King 1.8 comes when the skies open and XC racers are left to make their way through the toughest conditions of all – thick, slippery-yet sticky mud.
Mud tyres must knife to the bottom finding firm ground for traction, yet be able to shed the excess with every spin of the wheel – the Mud King 1.8 profile and aggressive ‘spike’ pattern does exactly this.
What lies beneath these heinous conditions is equally menacing and the new ProTection casing offers excellent puncture resistance against that which cannot be seen.
Mud King + rain = Mud mayhem!

Continental Traffic is the tyre for all year use in and around town in all conditions and soils, providing high comfort, and good puncture protection due to the robust gumwall sidewall and generous rubber tread.
The compound of the Traffic uses a high degree of natural rubber which is unusual for a tyre at this price level. This means that the tyre will provide greater wet weather grip making it safer in cornering and under breaking on wet, greasy city streets.
The tread is designed with Continental unique "Endless Edge"- block design system, as with all their new generation off road MTB tyres featuring five-cornered blocks in variable orientation for effortless, precise steering, safe handling and responsive braking grip.

The roller tyre. With a modern roller and the Continental Ultra Sport Hometrainer in the house, winter can set in when it wants to. Thanks to its special cold-running compound, the Ultra Sport Hometrainer doesn't experience the heat buildup of a road tyre, nor does it suffer the tread separation that the road tyre is prone to under the special loads occurring when in cycling and braking on the roller's revolving drums. The Ultra Sport Hometrainer has been designed explicitly for rollers and is not suitable for on-road use.

Fit the Continental Grand Prix Supersonic, coupled with a lightweight tube and you've got the lightest and fastest tyre combination on the market at just 200g.
The Continental Grand Prix Supersonic offers exceptionally low rolling resistance that rivals that of our renowned tubulars. The tyre is now even faster thanks to the new Black Chili compound which utilises nano particles of carbon to create a molecular structure of the rubber comound which is stronger, faster amd grippier than previous compounds.
Conti's super-fine, polyamide casing combined with a thin layer of Black Chili rubber is extremely lightweight and is designed to allow high inflation pressures.
This tyre is intended for race use only in solo events, and is not recommended for road races or training rides due to its short tread life. There is no extra puncture protection with the Grand Prix Supersonic due to the lightweight construction. Riders should weigh up the compromises that they are willing to take before choosing this tyre.

The Continental Grand Prix 4000 is the star in the peloton.
For the GP4000 tyres, the activated silica compound improves the handling at stability limits and gives great rolling resistance. The anti-tear formula in the rubber compound prevents tread brittleness while increasing mileage performance. The extra special thing about the GP 4000 is the puncture protection made from Vectran™ liquid crystal fibres. The patented Vectran Breaker reconciles the conflicting goals of low weight, low rolling resistance and top puncture and cut resistance in a fascinating manner. The Vectran™ fluid crystal fibres were developed for airbag systems in the automotive and aerospace industries.
It also maintains strength in the wet.
A new anti-cracking formula prevents UV light from damaging the compound and increases the mileage performance.
Features new tread wear indicators to help riders gauge the life of their GP4000 tyre. On the one hand you don't lose mileage performance by prematurely replacing the tyre and on the other you don't risk safety by using the tyre beyond its tread service life
