The Continental GP Triathlon has a Vectran Breaker anti puncture belt which withstands even sharp-edged volcano ash. With a speedy slick tread pattern and tightly woven carcass, it is optimized for consistent top speeds. Indicators in the tread show the wear rate of the tyre and it has all the capability characteristics of the Grand Prix 4000 but is styled towards multisports athletes. With Continental's Black Chili compound also being a feature of this tyre, the Continental GP Triathlon sports all the latest tyre technology from Korbach, Germany.

The Continental Grand Prix Supersonic offers exceptionally low rolling resistance that rivals that of our renowned tubulars. The tyre is now even faster thanks to the new Black Chili compound which utilises nano particles of carbon to create a molecular structure of the rubber comound which is stronger, faster amd grippier than previous compounds.
Conti's super-fine, polyamide casing combined with a thin layer of Black Chili rubber is extremely lightweight and is designed to allow high inflation pressures.
This tyre is intended for race use only in solo events, and is not recommended for road races or training rides due to its short tread life. There is no extra puncture protection with the Grand Prix Supersonic due to the lightweight construction. The Continental Grand Prix 4000 is the star in the peloton.

The roller tyre. With a modern roller and the Continental Ultra Sport Hometrainer in the house, winter can set in when it wants to. Thanks to its special cold-running compound, the Ultra Sport Hometrainer doesn't experience the heat buildup of a road tyre, nor does it suffer the tread separation that the road tyre is prone to under the special loads occurring when in cycling and braking on the roller's revolving drums. Schwalbe Snow Stud winter studded tyre. The Schwalbe Snow Stud tyre works on ice. For many of us who live in more temperate regions, the likelihood of a midday thaw followed by an overnight freeze means that ice may be frequently encountered Whether off-road or on-road this is where studs come into their own They are not failsafe, and you still need to treat ice with due respect, but studs do offer a big improvement in control to the extent that you can easily be lulled into a false sense of security, only to slip straight onto your backside soon after stepping off the bike Studs are available as off-road tyres with wide spaced lugs, or on road tyres with a much closer spaced tread It should be noted that compared to regular tyres, there is increased rolling resistance (making pedalling harder), and the studs can be pretty noisy on bare roads In climates where snow and ice persist through the winter, riders would tend to use studs throughout the season, whereas in regions such as the UK where ice is a more sporadic event, a quick change of tyres or even better a spare set of wheels made up ready seems to be the more efficient approach.
